Maison Planeix

historic

The Maison Planeix stands out for its flat, stark facade punctuated by a massive, central glass window that spans several floors. Le Corbusier designed this residence and workshop in nineteen twenty-four for a sculptor named Antonin Planeix. Planeix wanted a space where he could create monumental work and house his family. The building represents one of Le Corbusier's early experiments with the industrial aesthetics that would define his later career, specifically the use of reinforced concrete and open, light-filled internal volumes.
