Hôtel Bonaparte

The Hôtel Bonaparte features a distinct neoclassical stone façade, marked by the heavy, ornate ironwork typical of the mid-nineteenth century residential architecture in Paris. Built during the period of urban renewal under Napoleon the Third, the structure served as a private mansion for the wealthy elite who favored the area near the new grand boulevards. Aristide Boucicaut, the founder of the nearby Bon Marché department store, famously conducted his early retail negotiations within these walls before shifting his business focus elsewhere.
