Le Moulin Blute-Fin

The Moulin Blute-Fin stands as one of the two surviving windmills atop the hill of Montmartre. Its white wooden sails rise above the Rue Lepic, a remnant of a time when the district was a rural village of wheat fields and vineyards. In the late nineteenth century, the owner, Monsieur Debray, transformed the mill into a popular dance hall and tavern. Patrons climbed the hill to drink galette wine and dance on the breezy terrace while the city of Paris stretched below.
