Arènes de Montmartre

The Arenes de Montmartre occupy a secluded garden at twenty-five rue Chappe, tucked away just steps from the bustle of the Sacre Coeur. While they share a name with the famous ancient Roman arenas found elsewhere in the city, this site is a modern construction that pays homage to that classical history. It serves as an intimate, open-air amphitheater that remains hidden from the general public for most of the year. During the summer months, the space transforms into a stage for classical and lyrical music, where performers play under the stars for a small audience.
