Halle Saint-Pierre

The Halle Saint-Pierre stands at the base of the Montmartre hill as a remnant of Parisian industrial ambition. Constructed in eighteen sixty-eight, this iron and glass structure served as a neighborhood covered market for over a century. Its design follows the signature style of architect Victor Baltard, who defined the city's market aesthetic during the Second Empire. Before its current life as a cultural center, the building navigated various utilitarian roles, including stints as a local school and a municipal garage.
