Hotel de noirmoutier

The Hotel de Noirmoutier is defined by a deep forecourt and a classic limestone facade that hides behind a massive stone gateway on the Rue de Grenelle. Built in seventeen twenty-four for a wealthy aristocrat, this private mansion serves as the official residence of the prefect of the Paris region. During the German occupation in the nineteen forties, the building housed the headquarters of the Luftwaffe, and bullet holes from the liberation of Paris reportedly remain scarred into the stone of the courtyard walls.
