Promenade Jean Vigo

The Promenade Jean Vigo acts as a wide, tree-lined walkway stretching along the side of the Canal de l'Ourcq. It carries the name of the French film director who died at twenty-nine, just after completing his masterpiece about a canal-side wedding. While the city streets around it bustle with traffic, this gravel path stays dedicated to pedestrians and cyclists. Heavy metal bollards prevent cars from entering the space, keeping the view of the water clear from the benches tucked under the trees.
