Statue de Simone Veil

The sculptor, Belkacem Boudjellouli, cast this statue to honor the woman who survived Auschwitz and later became the first woman to preside over the European Parliament. She fought for the legalization of abortion in France in nineteen seventy-four, facing intense hostility from her own political allies during the debate.
