Dingo Bar

landmark

The Dingo Bar displays a distinctive green storefront on the corner of rue Delambre. In the nineteen twenties, this was the first place in Paris to stay open all night, catering to a crowd of American writers and artists. One evening in nineteen twenty-five, the novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald met Ernest Hemingway here for their first drink together. The two men walked out of the door and into a long, turbulent friendship that defined the literary life of the era.
