Le Dôme Café

The corner of Boulevard du Montparnasse and Rue Delambre carries the red awning and distinct gold lettering of Le Dôme. It opened in nineteen ninety-eight as an Anglo-American café, a place where the artistic and literary expatriates of the twenties claimed their tables. Ernest Hemingway sat here, and Man Ray spent his evenings in the leather booths. It was a primary gathering spot for the Lost Generation, serving as a hub for writers and painters who preferred the neighborhood’s cheaper rents over Montmartre.
