You are walking into the Jardin de Reuilly Paul Pernin, a space built directly over what was once a bustling industrial hub. Until the middle of the twentieth century, this site served as a major goods station for the railway line that connected Paris to the eastern suburbs of Vincennes. When the station fell into disuse and the tracks were dismantled, the city transformed the gritty rail yard into this expansive public park between nineteen ninety-two and nineteen ninety-eight. The park now serves as a crucial link in the Coulée verte René-Dumont, a famous elevated walkway that follows the path of the old railway tracks through the city.
