Soupirs Garden

The Jardin des Soupirs is a small, volunteer-run shared garden tucked away at eighteen Passage des Soupirs in the twentieth arrondissement. While many of Paris’s famous green spaces were designed for royalty, this site emerged in two thousand five from a humble strip of land measuring about three hundred and sixty square meters. The garden occupies a narrow stretch of earth roughly six meters wide and sixty meters long, filling a space that has been historically documented as a rural pathway since at least eighteen twelve.
