Blau-Gold Haus

historic

The Blau-Gold Haus stands out for its bold, vertical stripes of deep blue and gold running down the facade. Built in nineteen fifty-two, this building served as the headquarters for the Blau-Gold carnival society. During the height of the reconstruction era in Cologne, they commissioned architect Heinz Bienefeld to create a home that captured the spirit of the city's famous street festivals. It remains the only building in the historic center designed specifically to anchor the celebrations of Cologne Carnival.
