Cologne Triangle

The Cologne Triangle rises as a sharp, triangular glass needle above the east bank of the Rhine. Completed in two thousand six, this office tower houses the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, which coordinates air safety across the continent. During construction, workers unearthed a buried cache of unexploded bombs from the Second World War. Specialists had to conduct a controlled detonation right on the riverbank to clear the site. The building stands today as a central hub for international aviation regulation.
