Akbari Masjid

The Akbari Masjid features a distinct red sandstone facade accented by a prominent central arch and flanked by two slender minarets. Built during the reign of Emperor Akbar in the sixteenth century, this mosque served the community living within the bustling Hing ki Mandi district. Local tradition suggests the structure provided a dedicated space for merchants and laborers to gather for daily prayers between their transactions. Its modest scale reflects the design priorities of the early Mughal period in Agra.
