Kinari Bazar holds a narrow, crooked path wedged between the historic Jama Masjid and the Agra Fort. Its name comes from the tradition of selling kinari, or gold and silver lace, which once adorned the royal garments of the Mughal court. Merchants still spread out shimmering fabrics and intricate embroidery across the storefronts today. Long ago, the artisans here held the exclusive contract to supply wedding finery for the emperors, and that trade continues in the heavy silks and bridal jewelry displayed everywhere.
