Indrabhan Girl's Inter College

The Indrabhan Girl's Inter College occupies a quiet, narrow stretch of Pipal Mandi, set apart by the heavy iron gates that guard its courtyard. Established by the local philanthropist Indrabhan Gupta, the school opened its doors in the middle of the twentieth century to provide education to girls from conservative families who otherwise stayed home. Generations of neighborhood women learned to read, write, and calculate behind these high brick walls, often stepping out of the gates for the first time as students.
