Sanyan Well

The Sanyan Well sits at the edge of the market, identifiable by three stone-rimmed pools fed by a single underground spring. Local people designed the water flow to prioritize human health: the first pool provides drinking water, the second serves for washing vegetables, and the third is for laundry. Generations of residents relied on this hierarchy to keep the supply clean for those downstream. During the Qing dynasty, the city magistrate reinforced these rules with official decrees carved directly into the stone.
