Xingwen Lane

Xingwen Lane features a high stone archway that marks the entrance to a narrow, winding corridor of traditional Naxi courtyard homes. This lane served as a major artery for merchant caravans carrying tea and medicinal herbs through Lijiang centuries ago. During the height of the tea trade, local families converted their front rooms into small shops to serve passing traders. The lane remains paved with weathered flagstones that show deep grooves worn by decades of iron-rimmed wheels and heavy horse hooves.
