Woljeonggyo Bridge

Woljeonggyo Bridge stretches across the Namcheon Stream with a heavy timber roof and stone piers that date back to the Unified Silla period. It functioned as a royal passage connecting the palace to the southern mountains, reconstructed recently based on archaeological findings and historical records from the Samguk Sagi. Centuries ago, the monk Wonhyo famously dipped into these waters after falling from the bridge, an incident that led him to meet Princess Yoseok and eventually father the scholar Seol Chong.
