The Backstage Hotel Vernissage is a cluster of dark, rough-hewn timber buildings topped with jagged, mountain-like rooflines. It began as a cinema and an art gallery before Heinz Julen, a local architect and artist, expanded the site into a hotel. Each guest room functions as a modular art piece, featuring steel bed frames and oversized windows designed to mimic a camera lens framing the Matterhorn. The cinema screen still operates, hosting film festivals and nightly screenings for guests and locals alike.
