Wat Muen San

religious

Wat Muen San features a distinctive viharn built in the traditional Lanna style, with low-slung, multi-tiered roofs that stretch almost to the ground. This temple served as the spiritual center for the silver smiths who lived and worked in the surrounding Hai Ya neighborhood. For generations, artisans hammered intricate patterns into plates and bowls within these temple grounds. A small museum on the premises still displays the blackened, hand-carved tools these families used to craft silver for Chiang Mai's royal court.
