Potters Fields Park

Potters Fields Park sits on land that once operated as the home of the earliest delftware kilns in England. A Dutch potter named Christian Wilhelm established the Pickleherring Pottery here in sixteen eighteen, and his work became so highly regarded that King Charles the First appointed him the official Royal Galleypot Maker. The park design today reflects this history through granite seating and an entrance portal that mimic the sweeping leaf and foliage patterns found on that original seventeenth-century pottery.
