Verdurin

cultural

Verdurin is a project space and literary salon located on Clunbury Street. Its name is a deliberate reference to the character Madame Verdurin from the novel In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust. In that work, the fictional Madame Verdurin famously hosted a tight-knit literary circle known as the little clan, where guests gathered for music, art, and intellectual conversation. This space aims to mirror that spirit of collective inquiry and social gathering. Founded by curator Pierre d Alancaisez, the venue serves as a forum for discussions on philosophy, politics, and art, specifically addressing what the organizers see as the breakdown of modern cultural institutions. Beyond its role as a space for lectures and screenings, it also functions as a concept store, selling curated literature and goods intended for the intellectually inclined. By hosting these events, it creates a small, dedicated community for those interested in examining the urgent questions of the current social and cultural landscape. TOPIC_DONE
