Hay's Galleria

Hay's Galleria began as a modest seventeen-century brewhouse, but it eventually became the central nervous system of London's food supply. In the nineteenth century, the site was transformed into an enclosed dock known as Hay's Wharf. At its peak, this single location handled eighty percent of all dry produce imported into London, including tea, coffee, and spices arriving on fast sailing clippers from India and China. This sheer volume of trade earned the facility the nickname the Larder of London.
