Hampden House, Mayfair

Hampden House, located at number sixty-one Green Street, is a distinguished example of a Palladian townhouse. It stands as an amalgamation of two separate houses that were joined together in the mid-nineteenth century. The eastern portion of the building was designed by the architect Roger Morris, who lived there himself after completing its construction in seventeen-thirty. Its architectural style remains a notable attempt to bring the aesthetic of a rural Palladian villa into the dense, structured environment of a London street.
