Sivill House

landmark

Sivill House is a twenty-storey residential tower that stands as a bold landmark on Columbia Road. Completed in 1966, the building was designed by the renowned architect Berthold Lubetkin along with his partners Douglas Bailey and Francis Skinner. Lubetkin was a radical modernist who championed the belief that nothing is too good for ordinary people. He brought this philosophy to the design of the tower, treating social housing with the same architectural ambition, artistic care, and geometric complexity usually reserved for high-end luxury developments.
