One Blackfriars

One Blackfriars is instantly recognizable on the London skyline for its dramatic, sweeping silhouette. Its distinctive form is modeled after the Lansetti two vase, a piece of glass art created by the renowned Finnish designer Timo Sarpaneva in the mid-twentieth century. The tower was designed to echo the vase's asymmetrical, organic curves, which change their appearance depending on the angle of the light and the viewer's position. You can actually see the original inspiration for the building on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
