One Blackfriars by Berkeley

One Blackfriars is known locally as The Vase, a name derived from its distinctive, curved silhouette. Architect Ian Simpson drew inspiration for this shape from a 1952 glass vase titled Lansetti, designed by the Finnish sculptor Timo Sarpaneva. The tower is constructed from over five thousand individual glass panels, and because of the building's complex curvature, almost no two of these panels are identical.
