Mullen Peralta Mini Park

park garden

A narrow flight of concrete stairs climbs from the sidewalk, ending at a small, triangular patch of green tucked between two houses. The park sits on a site that once held a crumbling, multi-unit building condemned after a fire. When the city tore the structure down in the nineteen eighties, neighbors pushed to keep the land open rather than letting it be sold for a new house. Today, the space contains a few benches, a play structure, and views toward the city skyline.
