The Quesada Gardens Tiled Steps rise in a series of colorful, mosaic-covered levels that break the monotony of the surrounding concrete sidewalk. Neighbors created this installation to reclaim a neglected, trash-strewn dirt path that once deterred people from walking up the hill. Local residents spent months cutting tile pieces, arranging patterns, and cementing them onto the risers by hand. Now, the steps feature images of local wildlife and neighborhood pride, turning a steep, utilitarian climb into a communal outdoor gallery.
