Triples Alley is the deepest part of the outfield at Oracle Park, a section of the right-center field gap that serves as a deliberate nod to the team's history at the Polo Grounds in New York City. The area is named for its tendency to turn balls hit into that expansive, angled corner into three-base hits rather than home runs. When the ballpark was first designed, the distance to this wall was set at four hundred and twenty-one feet, a homage to the cavernous dimensions where legendary players like Willie Mays once roamed. Even after later renovations shifted the wall slightly closer to home plate, the area remains one of the most difficult sections for visiting outfielders to navigate due to the unpredictable bounces off its unique brick-and-fencing structure.
