Presidio Officers' Club

The Presidio Officers' Club stands out with its long, low-slung profile and walls of thick, white stucco. It began in the seventeen seventies as a simple adobe structure built by Spanish soldiers, making it one of the oldest buildings in San Francisco. Inside the walls, archaeologists found the original earth foundations, including a section of an eighteenth-century stone drain. Officers once held lavish dinners and dances here, but the site remains defined by those earliest mud bricks hidden deep within the structure.
