The Walt Disney Family Museum

museum

The Walt Disney Family Museum occupies a long, three-story brick building that originally served as a barracks for the United States Army. It stretches across the grass with red-brick walls and white trim, echoing the military history of the Presidio. Inside, the space holds early sketches, cameras, and personal effects of the man who created Mickey Mouse. Diane Disney Miller founded this collection to separate the person from the corporate entity, filling the galleries with his actual voice and handwriting.
