Camera Obscura Art Lab

The Camera Obscura Art Lab is housed inside a simple, white stucco building with a prominent red-tiled roof and a tall, slender tower. Originally built in eighteen ninety-eight, the room at the top contains a rotating lens and a mirror that projects a real-time, panoramic image of the surrounding Palisades Park onto a large table. Robert Jones, a local resident, donated the device after seeing a similar one in San Francisco, and the city moved it here in nineteen fifty-seven.
