The Wrigley Building

The Wrigley Building stands out in Chicago for its two towers connected by a pedestrian bridge, finished in gleaming white terra cotta that stays bright even on the grayest winter days. William Wrigley Junior, the chewing gum magnate, commissioned this headquarters in nineteen twenty to anchor the north side of the river. He insisted the design take inspiration from the Giralda tower in Seville, Spain. At night, the building’s floodlights illuminate the intricate facade, keeping it a permanent landmark of the city skyline.
