Our Mother of Perpetual Help

The chapel of Our Mother of Perpetual Help sits behind a massive, two-story facade of yellow brick and white stone, dominated by twin towers that rise above the surrounding oaks. Built in nineteen twenty-five, this structure served as the parish church for the Redemptorist fathers who lived in the neighborhood. They brought the icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help from Rome to New Orleans, and the building grew around that singular devotion. The congregation eventually relocated, leaving the sanctuary to silence.
