The limestone facade of 740 Park Avenue was designed by architect Rosario Candela to convey an air of quiet restraint. Candela understood that true wealth often prefers to remain understated rather than showy. Behind this modest exterior lie interiors built like private palaces, featuring expansive galleries, libraries with wood paneling, and rooms designed specifically for grand entertaining. At the time of its completion in 1930, the building was described as twelve separate mansions stacked one on top of another.
