Harold Pratt House

The Harold Pratt House stands at the corner of 68th Street and Park Avenue as a refined example of an English Regency mansion. Built in 1920 for Harold Irving Pratt, an heir to the Standard Oil fortune, the limestone building reflects the era when industrial titans constructed grand homes along the emerging Park Avenue corridor. Its architect, William Adams Delano, designed the residence with such precise attention to detail that he included a carved frieze of seashells along the exterior. Inside, the house retains original features like hand-painted Venetian doors and unique crystal chandeliers that once illuminated the private social life of the Pratt family.
