Henry P. Davison House

The Henry P. Davison House, located at the corner of Park Avenue and 69th Street, stands as a premier example of early twentieth-century residential architecture. Completed in 1917, the mansion was designed by the firm Walker and Gillette for Henry P. Davison, a powerful senior partner at J.P. Morgan and a key figure in the creation of the Federal Reserve. Its exterior features red Flemish bond brick and a limestone base, showcasing a refined neo-Federal style with Georgian influences. One of the building’s most ingenious original features was an indoor motorized turntable located within the garage, which allowed the owner to easily reorient his automobiles for their exit onto the street.
