You are approaching the site of the American LGBTQ+ Museum, which is currently taking shape as a historic addition to the city skyline. This institution is being built as a dedicated wing within the New York Historical Society, the oldest museum in the city. When it opens its doors, it will occupy the entire fourth floor of the new Tang Wing for Democracy, marking a significant milestone as the first major museum in the country entirely committed to documenting and celebrating the history and culture of the LGBTQ+ community.
