The Beresford

The Beresford, which dominates the block between West 81st and 82nd streets, is actually a complex of three separate buildings bundled together under one massive facade. Completed in 1929, architect Emery Roth cleverly designed this unified shell to hide the building's three distinct structures behind a single, cohesive architectural face. This setup allowed the developers to maximize the footprint while maintaining the look of a singular, grand fortress overlooking Central Park.
