Comic Strip Live

Comic Strip Live opened its doors at this location in 1976 and remains one of the most significant launching pads for American stand-up comedy. Before it became a dedicated venue for stand-up, the space hosted a mix of magicians, singers, and novelty acts, but the founders quickly realized that focusing exclusively on comedians was the better path. The venue earned its reputation by acting as an incubator for young talent, with legends like Jerry Seinfeld, Eddie Murphy, and Chris Rock honing their early material on this very stage.
