NRZ Train Station

other

The Victoria Falls railway station features a colonial-era roof of corrugated iron painted a distinctive, muted green that stands out against the dusty orange earth. Built in nineteen oh five to serve the Cape to Cairo railway dream, the station was the final stop before the train crossed the bridge over the Zambezi River. Cecil Rhodes insisted the bridge be built where passengers could feel the spray of the falls on their faces. The platform still serves as the heartbeat of the town.
