The Victoria Falls Post Office sits in a low, single-story building distinguished by its classic colonial-era veranda and heavy, white-painted wooden pillars. Built in nineteen fourteen, it served as the critical link between the remote Zambezi frontier and the rest of the British Empire. During the early days of the railway, mail arrived here via steam engine, where clerks manually sorted letters bound for explorers and laborers working deep in the bush. It still handles daily correspondence for the town today.
