't Brugs Beertje

The facade of 't Brugs Beertje features a carved wooden bear sitting above the entrance, holding a glass of beer. Daisy Gerard opened this café in nineteen eighty-three with only a handful of local beers on the menu. She turned the space into a place where brewers themselves came to taste their own creations. The walls display hundreds of vintage beer trays and metal signs from defunct breweries, documenting a Belgian beer culture that has shifted significantly since the doors first opened.
