Brewery Creek Community Garden

The Brewery Creek Community Garden occupies a patch of land that once served as a literal industrial spillway. For decades, the ground here sat dormant, tainted by the heavy machinery and beer-brewing waste from the nearby nineteenth-century breweries that gave this neighborhood its name. Residents eventually dragged away the rusted metal and debris to clear space for raised planter boxes. Today, the garden uses a specialized irrigation system that filters rainwater through the soil, cleaning the site while nourishing the vegetables.
