Palacio Bruna

Palacio Bruna features a limestone facade topped by a mansard roof, rising above the corner of Huelén Street. Built in nineteen twenty for the nitrate magnate Augusto Bruna, the mansion served as a residence that showcased the immense wealth of Chile’s mining era. Bruna lost his fortune in the market crash shortly after moving in, forcing him to sell the house to the United States government for use as an embassy. It eventually became the headquarters for the Chilean Chamber of Construction.
