Bolsa de Comercio de Santiago

The Bolsa de Comercio de Santiago anchors the corner of Calle La Bolsa with a dome that echoes the architecture of the Paris Bourse. Architect Emile D'Eguillon designed this building in nineteen seventeen to host the city's stock traders in a grand, neo-Renaissance hall. Before the building opened, traders conducted their frantic business in the open air of nearby courtyards, often battling the rain. Inside the main hall, a large electric board still marks the shift from chalk and shouting to modern digital trade.
