Plaza Brasil

Plaza Brasil features a central fountain surrounded by a collection of disjointed, eccentric sculptures that look as if they were scattered by a storm. The park occupies land that belonged to a wealthy estate until the nineteenth century, when the city transformed the private gardens into a public square to anchor the growing neighborhood. During a renovation in the nineteen eighties, the city invited artists to install these abstract, multi-colored structures, turning the quiet green space into a permanent outdoor gallery of strange shapes.
